Georgetown for Haiti Brings in Needed Funds
Bringing together an effervescent mix of Georgetown’s establishment and newest student members, last night’s Georgetown for Haiti event raised approximately $9,500 in badly needed funds for Doctors Without Borders for their work in the earthquake-ravaged country. Mingling, nibbling and sipping refreshments on Lululemon’s very large second floor, several hundred supporters gave donations to volunteers from HSBC Bank, including branch manager Joe Reamer and Assistant Vice President Val Volkau.
Georgetown grande dame Carol Joynt, who helped organize the event, snapped pictures throughout the evening as guests schmoozed with celebrity salonista Erwin Gomez and organizer Richard Bahar. Dr. Tina Alster, Paul Frazer, Janet Donovan and Jodi Schneider of The American Banker also did star turns.
Other sponsors included Jefferson Prep, L2 Lounge, Four Seasons Hotel, Ritz-Carlton, Erwin Gomez Salon and Spa, Lost Boys DC, Washington Performing Arts Soceity, Michel Richard Citronelle, SweetGreen, Leopold’s Kafe, Ralph Lauren, Georgetown Cupcake, Modern Rust Furniture, Electrocom, Policy, Rugby Cafe, Bacchus, Carol Joynt, Griffin, Aesthetic Dental Spa, Haute Papier, Josephine, Chipotle, Filomena, A Mano, Spiral Flight Yoga, Embassy Camera, Nina Black Reed, Pizzeria Paradiso, Dixie Liquor, Hook, Aurabyte, Lush, Kelly Collis Fredrick – cityshopgirl.com. Coconut water by Vita Coco and music by MecTec refreshed the crowd.
The Georgetown Dish, media sponsor of the event, thanks sponsors and organizers for a job well done.
