Tonight’s All About Haiti Benefits

The Kennedy Center (2700 F St. N.W.) hosts an Evening for Haiti Friday. First, Tabou Combo — “Haiti’s preeminent dance band” — takes the Millennium Stage for a free concert (5:30-7 p.m.). At 8 p.m. in the Concert Hall, the National Symphony Orchestra will perform Air from Bach’s Suite No. 3 in D major, as well as its previously announced program. Proceeds from the NSO concert will go to the Red Cross. Tix are $20-$85.

Local 16’s (1602 U St. N.W.) Friday fundraiser will benefit Oxfam’s Haiti relief efforts. For $25 at the door or in advance, expect drink specials, “free beer until the keg runs out” and an appetizer buffet. 6-10:30 p.m.

Tabi Bonney is performing at the Our World Our People Benefit at the Warehouse Loft (411 New York Ave. N.E.) on Friday, reports Brightest Young Things. Look forward to DJs, bands, poets and art. Your $5 entry fee will go to the Red Cross. 8-11 p.m.

Jefferson Prep is holding a Georgetown for Haiti fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders on Friday on the second level of Lululemon (3265 M St. N.W.). SweetGreen is catering, with desserts from Georgetown Cupcake. Coffee comes from Saxby’s, drinks from Rugby Food and Spirits. There’s a $10 donation requested at the door, with larger amounts encouraged. 6:30-9 p.m.

Sutra Lounge (2406 18th St. N.W.) hosts the Haiti Earthquake Relief Benefit for Habitat for Humanity in Haiti on Friday. Your $20 donation gets you access to drink specials, hor d’oeuvres donated by Restaurant Savour and the chance to win raffle prizes. 6:30-9:30 p.m.

This Saturday, you can hit up BLACK: One World for Haiti at Cre8 Studio Gallery (1314 9th St. N.W.) for an art auction, concert and drinks. Admission is $5 with the donation of nonperishable canned goods, or $10 without. All proceeds go to the Red Cross. 9 p.m.-2 a.m.

On Sunday, local DJs — including Nadastrom, Fort Knox Five and Will Eastman — will be Funkin’ 4 Haiti at Modern (3287 M St. N.W.). A minimum $10 donation is requested; proceeds go to the Red Cross. 9 p.m.

On Tuesday, Jan.26, Hip Hop Pantsula/Jabba hosts a fundraiser at Policy (1904 14th St. N.W.). Proceeds will benefit BloomBars (a nonprofit for the arts) and Yéle Haiti. Suggested donation is $20. 7-10 p.m.; complimentary specialty cocktails during the first hour.

The D.C. Loves Haiti Benefit is next Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Park at Fourteenth (920 14 St. N.W.). Attendees ($10-$25 sliding scale) can donate to any or all of four nonprofits, with all proceeds going toward Haitian relief and recovery. 6-9 p.m.

The Alliance Française de Washington, D.C. (2142 Wyoming Ave. N.W.) hosts an event Monday, Feb. 1 that will feature Haitian music, French food and wine, and a discussion led by a U.S. correspondent for TF1 French Television. An auction will include a free session of classes at the Alliance Française, concert tickets, paintings and donated items. Tickets are $25; all proceeds to go to Doctors Without Borders. 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Reports Free in D.C.: “Ashok Bajaj’s restaurants are donating $1 to the Red Cross for each signature dish sold at 701, Ardeo/Bardeo, Bibiana Osteria-Enoteca, The Bombay Club, Oval Room and Rasikathrough Friday, Feb. 19.

Blu Water Day Spa (5234 Nicholson Lane, Kensington, Md.) will donate $15 to the Red Cross from each of the following regular-priced services: Apothecary Spa Pedicure ($85); 60-minute Swedish Massage ($100); 60-minute Signature Facial ($110 ); Gel Forever French Full Set ($70) and Reflexology ($65). The spa will booking appointment through Saturday, Jan. 30.

Annie Creamcheese (3279 M St. N.W.) — the superstar of D.C.’s vintage stores – helps you donate to relief efforts and save money on your purchases. Donate $1 and receive 10 percent off any regular-priced item, $5 for 20 percent or $20 for 30 percent. (Sale items and Chanel are excluded.)

Proper Topper is donating 100 percent of the revenue from sales of its popular Marlyn Shiff bangle bracelet. The bracelets are $20 each — the store folks says on their blog, “We’re hoping now to sell them by the thousand and carry a nice fat check down to Red Cross as soon as possible.”

What’s the Deal D.C. will donate $1 for every person who signs up to receive their e-mails on discounts for local restaurants, bars and more.
